CheckCorona: a page in our history.

In 2020, CheckCorona explored conversational agents as a route to pandemic information. This page documents that period; it does not provide care or medical advice.

The recovered record

A Common Crawl capture from 8 April 2020 preserves the CheckCorona publication at otwoo.com.br/?p=1149. It describes the project and identifies Murilo Gazzola as its author. The identifier 1149 also appears in external links to this domain.

A capture is historical evidence. It does not establish that a bot, application or medical service from that period is operational today.

A redirect preserved on 28 February 2024 directly links otwoo.com.br/?p=1149 to otwoo.app?p=1149. This second record confirms continuity of the identifier between the domains. Its WARC reference is in the expanded inventory.

Wayback also preserves three2021 redirects from checkcorona.app. Their recovered bodies match the archive digests and identify the same Firebase link as the earlier Common Crawl record. The installation destination was not followed. Inspect the separate records.

Connected records: AAi-Cefaleia.

The research context

An ICMC/USP article dated 18 May 2020 describes CheckCorona and its inclusion in UNOPS’s Mapa da Reação. That reference belongs to 2020; it is not clinical certification or a present-day approval.

The history relates to the use of language and technology also documented in NILC-FakeNews. The projects have different aims and should not be treated as the same service.

How to read this material today

Information about a health emergency changes over time. Use this page to understand the project’s history. For a current health concern, consult current health authorities and qualified professionals; a 2020 record does not replace that.

The old WhatsApp number and installation links have not been verified through a service test. We do not publish a button promising a consultation, diagnosis or automated reply.

The Otwoo archive explains capture provenance and gaps. Use the local worksheet to record a document’s date, the relevant passage and anything still to be checked.

The preserved interface

The original Portuguese interface image has also been recovered. It shows a WhatsApp conversation from the historical project, not a working consultation in this edition. Its 2020 health wording is not current guidance.
